3rd ANNUAL STUDENT ARTWORK SHOWCASE! SATURDAY, MAY 1ST, 2010.....SUCCESS!
The recent 1st Annual “PASSPORT to Art” event was hugely successful!
It allowed Berwyn students to showcase their art, teachers to show the community that Art Education is indeed a valid and needful part of the curriculum in our schools, and it drew many customers to the diverse shopping, eating and banking businesses in the Depot District! Many of the families who attended commented on the unique way Art was displayed, and enjoyed the atmosphere of the Depot District Buisnesses. Many had never been aware of the Depot area’s many shops and eateries, and were thrilled to see their students’ Art displayed in such a public venue. Students were proud, and all had a wonderful day. Thanks to the many businesses in the Depot District who participated.
Students visited each venue and received a stamp in their “passports”. After filling out the passport, students enjoyed a free ice cream cone, courtesy of Over the Rainbow Ice Cream Parlor. Other participating businesses included: Brando’s Beef, Fly Right Gifts, O’Brien’s Cleaners, Peggy Rose Academy of Dance, The Peace Center, Exquisite Revisit, Tonini’s Italian Deli, Urban Mutt, Harris Bank, Citizen Community Bank and Skyline Café and Restaurant.
Patty, owner of Exquisit Revisit Antiques said she is looking forward to the 2nd Annual “Passport to Art”! So, get your passport ready, and join us next year for a wonderful another art-filled adventure! |
